oh man

Whoa.... I'm actually updating my blog. I should do this more often.... hopefully I will from now on. I feel like a dumbass, I never realized that I could just upload all my stuff to Blogger and it would generate thumbs for me. That sucks. But since I finally figured out how to make things easier on myself, I'm going to try to update more.

So.. these are some of my favorite heads that I did for Pratt's infamous 30 heads in 30 days assignment. Not gonna lie, I did 13 of them the night before but most of those ended up being my favorites.

Let me know what y'all think. Crits are always welcome.

This year is rough. On one hand, I want to learn everything I can before I have to leave... but on the other hand I really want to get going. It's lonely here. And loneliness breeds moping which in turn breeds laziness. At least I have my cats.

sketches

here are some sketches for my next illustration assignment. it's a children's book assignment.. again. i picked the book the cat who went to heaven, it's about a japanese artist who gets chosen to make a painting for the local Buddhist temple. the artist gets this cat, bla bla bla. anyway, here are some character sketches. i changed the artist character to a girl because i wanted to. anyway, yeah.

oh and about that other illustration i posted, the concept was creating a story using a made up title you were given and then doing a book cover illustration for that story. my title was "someone's crumbs" and the story revolves around how this woman's life changes after her husband's death. and so on. it's really dumb, but yeah that thing in her arms is supposed to be an urn. urn.. crumbs.. i'm terrible, i know.

i finally got a digital camera! so expect an update soon, once i catch up to where i need to be with school. man this semester's givin me gray hairs.

here are a select few pieces i did this past academic year, if anyone cares. some of you may've already seen a few of these on my myspace, but there are some other ones i don't believe i've posted anywhere yet. critiques are more than welcome and would be greatly appreciated!!! i wish i had more work to show, but all of my good stuff is back in florida.. these are just the ones i happened to scan or photograph throughout the year. sorry they're all so small, i can upload the larger versions if anyone is interested.

this is the painting that got into the best of ringling show. it's supposed to be aphrodite, the goddess of love. this photo sucks balls. i promise this looks much better in person.
